Parish Facilities Update

Dear Parishioners,

Update on St. Mary Parish Renovation:  Our Building committee recently met with Kevin Riley, a senior architect for Davis Design, to discuss future possibilities for remodeling the Church.  We received much-needed input on flooring, painting, plaster work, lighting, aesthetic design, etc.  Two major takeaways were the need for us to tighten our objectives and expand our committee.   I would love to have more parishioners involved since the project will affect the entire community.  I ask that you prayerfully consider joining our committee, so we may build our parish into a beautiful space for current and future generations.

Update on St. Joseph Parish Hall Renovation:  Our Parish Hall committee was put together about a year ago.  This was to address the growing desire among the community to update the hall for the current and future needs of the parish, parishioners, and visitors.  Our committee also recently met with Kevin Riley, a senior architect for Davis Design, to discuss future possibilities for remodeling Hall.  We received much-needed guidance for what are possible and reasonable goals, including hard numbers.  With his help, this task force will proceed to tighten our objectives with a concept plan.  We then recommend that this be followed up by hiring a design group to create drawings.  Lastly, this remodeling would best be accomplished in phases. 

One comment that struck our group was that whatever we do, this hall is for future generations.  We all see the potential of the hall to be utilized for many parish activities, including: sacramental celebrations, bridal and groom spaces, community meals and festivals, bible study, meeting space, storage, etc.  Yet this is not a work just for us, but a charitable act for those who are here and those we will be here after us.  Thank you to everyone who gave input at these two meetings!  I am gratified and humbled by the many people who offer their time to help make our dreams reality.  Lastly, as we finalize discussions, we will present a few ideas to the parishes for further input, so please stay tuned!
