No Power!

Dear Parishioners,

It has been a wild week with the weather.  Needless to say, I hope that you are all staying warm and healthy despite the severe power outages.  Over the last few days, I have been deeply moved by the outreach many of you have taken upon yourselves to ensure our neighbors have what they need.  It has not passed my notice that this all began on the Solemnity of St. Joseph.  A humble man, who supremely called to care for Mary and Jesus, was given the grace to live in the time and issues placed before him. 

These then are the days for us to put our Faith into practice by living out our Christian Faith in the “streets.”  Hospitality is a great virtue for us to cultivate.  We were made to become Saints and our Lord has placed you here in this community for a time like this.  The corporal, bodily, works are paramount to living out the Good News and Jesus states in Matthew 25:31-46 that what we do for the least among us you did for Him. “ For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.”

This was certainly one St. Joseph’s Solemnity to never forget.  Not just for the storm, but for how we were roused up by Christ to care for him hidden in our midst.
