In the silence, God speaks...

Dear Parishioners,
I just returned from my Ignatian Retreat in Sedalia, CO. I had an intentional time getting to spend much of it in deep silence with the Lord. I had a lot of stress the first day, worrying about what I needed to do in order to receive answers from the Lord. However, this worry slowly bled away as I sent at least four prayer times with the Lord. I was invited to spend a lot of quantity time with the Lord in nature. There were many beautiful or serene spots to sit or walk alone as I contemplated the day and the Scripture passages. I can honestly say I have never spent so much time just sitting as the day slowly unfolded. It was in the midst of this that the peace of the unconditional love of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit was finally able to be communicated in the simple things around me. I am truly grateful to each of you and to my brother priests for providing this time for me to be spiritually renewed in my priesthood and as a son of the Father!
I would be remiss to not recommend a yearly retreat for each of you as well. Retreats provide dedicated time for prayer, meditation, and spiritual reading, allowing individuals to connect with God on a deeper level. By stepping away from distractions, retreatants can better hear God's voice and discern His will for their lives. We will be having a mission for the parish for Christian Mothers at the end of August 23-26. Please feel free to attend and invite your friends to come as well! We will also be hosting a missionary priest next week at the parish. Please help me in welcoming him to the parish!
